Privacy Policy — Mochi

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Local-first · No data leaves your device

This Privacy Policy explains how the Mochi mobile application ("Mochi", "the app", "we", "us") handles your information. Mochi is developed and operated by Coders Atelier. By using Mochi, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: Mochi does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything you record — your emotions and notes — is stored only on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. We literally cannot see your data.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Mochi does not collect, store on remote servers, or transmit any of the following:

Mochi has no user accounts and requires no sign-up.

2. Information You Create (Stored Locally)

When you use Mochi, you may create emotion entries, tap sessions, notes, and reminder preferences. This information is:

Because this data never leaves your device, we have no access to it and cannot recover it if you delete the app.

3. Device Permissions

PermissionWhy it is used
NotificationsTo send local reminders that you choose to schedule. Reminders are generated on your device.
Exact alarms / schedulingTo deliver scheduled reminders at the time you set.
Run after device restartTo re-establish your scheduled reminders after the device reboots.

All notifications are produced locally. No notification content is sent to or processed by an external service.

4. Third-Party Services

Mochi does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The app uses open-source libraries (for the interface, local storage, charts, and fonts) that operate on-device. Fonts may be bundled with the app and do not transmit personal data.

5. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to anyone, because we do not collect it in the first place.

6. Children's Privacy

Mochi does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because all data stays on the device and nothing is transmitted to us, Mochi does not gather personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If Mochi is intended for or used by children, parents and guardians can fully remove all stored data by deleting the app.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (such as screen lock and OS-level sandboxing). Since data is never transmitted, there is no transmission to intercept.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You are in full control of your data. You can edit or delete entries within the app at any time, and you can permanently erase all data by uninstalling Mochi or clearing its storage from your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Mochi after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
